In the past years we spent some time travelling through the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea which is populated by the people of the three Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Each time the weather has major influences on our impression of the Baltic landscape. Especially the rain and thunder are striking the dense forests and bogs in the summer times while the winters are often harsh and white.
The celebration of old gods, myths and ancient beliefs is still a solid part of the different Baltic traditions and a thunderer is present in all traditions. The Estonian Uku as well an as the Seto Peko, the Latvian Pērkons and the Lithuanian Perkūnas are still vital motives of the local folklore.
The material on this tape was gather together in all three Baltic countries and consists of natural sounds as well as some celebrations, such as singing and dancing events. An impressive part was the celebration of Perkūnas in Lithuania – that’s the reason for the tape’s name.

The material has been collected between 2016 and 2018. Thanks to everybody who contributed to the field recordings by guiding or celebrating and thanks to everybody with whom we spent time and had great evenings.

This is a cool mix of heavy guitar, progressive songwriting, and electronic music with a ton of melody and groove, an excellent guitar tone, and some very fine playing. This one is definitely worth the price of admission! Tom's Reviews
